Yuzzu is the cheapest of the nine insurers on the public grid for third-party liability (RC, €270) and full omnium (€939) under 10,000 km a year, but only fourth on mini-omnium. Its price climbs by mileage band, monthly payment adds €48 a year and, according to the contract, the risk is carried by AXA Belgium.
How much does Yuzzu cost by declared mileage?
From €229 to €354 a year for RC, and from €839 to €1,201 for full omnium, across nine bands.
Yuzzu publishes its grid by mileage, and that is what sets the price. The amounts come from quotes run on yuzzu.be on 21 January 2026 and relayed by Mon-Assurance-Auto, for a woman born in 1969 at the lowest bonus-malus degree (Belgium's 0 to 22 no-claims scale), driving a VW Golf 2.0 TDi of 85 kW worth €33,500, in Walloon Brabant, with a fixed €500 excess on omnium. The omnium supplement is full omnium minus RC, since RC is included in the total.
| Annual mileage | RC | Full omnium (RC included) | Omnium supplement |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2,500 to 5,000 km | €229 | €839 | €610 |
| 5,000 to 7,500 km | €253 | €893 | €640 |
| 7,500 to 10,000 km | €270 | €939 | €669 |
| 10,000 to 12,500 km | €283 | €982 | €699 |
| 12,500 to 15,000 km | €300 | €1,028 | €728 |
| 15,000 to 20,000 km | €314 | €1,072 | €758 |
| 20,000 to 25,000 km | €327 | €1,115 | €788 |
| 25,000 to 30,000 km | €341 | €1,158 | €817 |
| Over 30,000 km | €354 | €1,201 | €847 |
Our reference profile (35 years old, Golf 1.5 TSI, Flemish Brabant, no claim in five years, about 15,000 km a year) sits right at the top of the 12,500 to 15,000 km band: €300 for RC, €1,028 for full omnium. Age, province and engine differ from the quote, so these amounts are not a quote for that driver. The gaps between bands, however, carry over.
Going from the lowest band to the highest costs €125 on RC (+54.6%) and €362 on full omnium (+43.1%). Each step adds €13 to €24 on RC and €43 to €54 on full omnium. The "up to 40% off" that Yuzzu advertises for low-mileage drivers does not show up in the grid: between the lowest and highest bands the measured gap is 35.3% on RC and 30.1% on full omnium, and the marketing claim is computed against a reference tariff that is not published.
Does one more kilometre change the price?
Yes, and that is exactly our profile's case. Going from 15,000 to 15,001 declared km raises RC by €14 and full omnium by €44, or 4.3%.
The temptation to declare 14,900 km is understandable. Bad idea. Barring fraud, the law of 4 April 2014 on insurance cuts the insurer's payout in the ratio between the premium paid and the premium that should have been paid: here 1,028 over 1,072, or 95.9%. On €10,000 of damage the shortfall reaches €410, which is 9.3 times the €44 saved. The figure illustrates the mechanism; the actual penalty depends on the file.
Which steps should you follow to read a Yuzzu quote?
- Declare the real mileage of the year, read from the odometer and the latest technical inspection.
- Ask for three lines, not one: RC only, mini-omnium and full omnium, then compute the supplement by subtracting RC.
- Have full omnium priced with a fixed €500 excess and with the English excess.
- Compare annual and monthly payment, a €48 gap.
- Note how long the promotion lasts and ask for the tariff as it will be billed after the first year.
Who carries the risk at Yuzzu?
AXA Belgium. The contract's information document (IPID, January 2026 version) names Yuzzu S.A. as a mandated underwriter, recognised by the FSMA, acting for AXA Belgium, and CallMePower dates to 1 January 2026 the moment AXA Belgium began carrying the risk and paying claims. For the reader, that changes the counterparty of the contract, not the front door or the complaints body: the Insurance Ombudsman remains competent. It also changes the comparison, since the public grid contains no AXA amount.
Is Yuzzu cheaper than other insurers?
Yes on RC and full omnium, no on mini-omnium. Here is the ranking on the nine-insurer grid recorded on 26 January 2026, under 10,000 km a year, for a woman born in 1968 at the lowest degree, with an 85 kW diesel Golf in Walloon Brabant.
| Cover | Yuzzu | Average of 9 insurers | Gap | Rank |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| RC only | €270 | €353 | -€83 (-23.5%) | 1st |
| RC + mini-omnium | €615 | €661 | -€46 (-7.0%) | 4th |
| RC + full omnium | €939 | €1,135 | -€196 (-17.3%) | 1st |
| Mini-omnium block (mini minus RC) | €345 | €308 | +€37 (+12.0%) | not ranked |
| Material damage (full minus mini) | €324 | €474 | -€150 (-31.6%) | not ranked |
The saving comes almost entirely from the material damage cover, priced at €324 against €474 on average. Anyone who only keeps mini-omnium gains almost nothing. The method has a limit: the grid stops at 10,000 km, the only band where all nine insurers publish an amount. At 15,000 km the others rise too, by an unknown amount, so the advantage at €1,028 is not measured. The insurer-by-insurer detail is in our article on the price of comprehensive insurance and in the best car insurance ranking.

Which excess should you choose: fixed €500 or English?
It all hangs on one figure that Yuzzu does not publish: the surcharge asked for the English excess.
With the fixed excess, you pay the smaller of the damage and €500. With the English excess, you pay nothing if the damage exceeds €500, and everything if it is lower. The option therefore only pays off on claims above €500, and then it pays exactly €500. Mon-Assurance-Auto presents it as a €0 excess option without displaying a surcharge: ask for it. The surcharge divided by 500 gives the yearly claim probability you must be able to grant for the option to pay for itself.
| Surcharge asked | Yearly probability of a claim above €500 | One claim every |
|---|---|---|
| €25 | 5% | 20 years |
| €50 | 10% | 10 years |
| €100 | 20% | 5 years |
| €150 | 30% | 3.3 years |
Our guide to the omnium deductible runs the same calculation for other amounts, and the one on reporting a claim or paying out of pocket adds the effect on the bonus-malus.
How much does monthly payment cost at Yuzzu?
€48 a year: €4 of fees per month, according to Mon-Assurance-Auto. That is 16.0% of an RC premium of €300 and 4.7% of a full omnium premium of €1,028.
Paid in twelve instalments at the start of each month, this surcharge equals an implied annual rate of about 40% on RC and 11% on full omnium, our own calculation that the contract never presents in that form. Splitting payments makes sense when cash flow demands it, much less when you can pay in one go. The method is detailed in our article on monthly or annual payment.
Is the 15% promotion worth switching insurer?
Not on its own. Yuzzu advertises 15% off all covers for one year on any new contract, or any change with a vehicle replacement, taken out between 5 September and 18 October 2026. Fourteen days remain at the date of this article.
On our band the discount is worth €45 on RC and €154.20 on full omnium. Spread over three years it falls to 5.0% of the bill, and to 3.0% over five. A competitor that stays €51.40 a year cheaper on full omnium (5% of €1,028) therefore does just as well over three years, with equivalent cover. The second-year tariff is not guaranteed, and indexation applies afterwards as everywhere. Our article on switching insurer describes the procedure, and the one on ways to lower your premium ranks the levers in euros.
What are the options worth, and what do they cost?
Few published prices, and a single usable figure. The replacement vehicle costs under €30 a year in case of an at-fault accident, 2.9% of a full omnium premium of €1,028. Breakdown assistance is provided by Touring. Legal protection goes up to €25,000 and driver cover up to €500,000 per accident, with no price displayed for either. Our article on driver protection shows why the advertised capital matters less than the disability threshold.
What limits should you know before signing?
Four, all sourced.
- Complaints. The Test-Achats platform gives Yuzzu 38 points, rated bad, for 92 complaints including 19 in the last twelve months, 89% closed, with a 4-day average response time (page consulted on 4 October 2026). These are filed complaints, not an audit. Trustpilot shows 4.1 out of 5 on 1,455 reviews in December 2025.
- The network. Six branches, open Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 18:30 for new contracts and from 9:00 to 16:00 for changes, closed on Saturday. Everything else happens remotely.
- Exclusions. The information document lists, among others, damage to tyres and rims and taking part in speed events.
- Price. It is calculated on quote: the amounts on this page are January 2026 simulations.

Method, reference profile and sources
The mileage-based tariffs, the fixed or English excess, the €4 monthly fee, the replacement vehicle, the six branches and the Trustpilot score come from the Mon-Assurance-Auto page on Yuzzu (Yago S.A., a broker licensed by the FSMA under number 114863), which states quotes run on yuzzu.be on 21 January 2026 for a woman born in 1969 at the lowest bonus-malus degree, with a Golf 2.0 TDi of 85 kW worth €33,500, in Walloon Brabant. The page was consulted on 4 October 2026. The nine-insurer grid amounts (€270, €615 and €939, averages of €353, €661 and €1,135) come from the same publisher's public grids, recorded on 26 January 2026 for a woman born in 1968, same car, same region, under 10,000 km. These profiles differ from this site's reference profile: absolute amounts do not carry over, only gaps, ratios and mechanisms do.
The gaps, supplements, break-even probabilities, discount percentages, implied annual rate of monthly payment (twelve debits at the start of each month) and the proportional reduction on €10,000 are our own calculations. The promotion and the options (driver cover up to €500,000, legal protection up to €25,000) come from the Yuzzu page consulted on 4 October 2026; the formulas and exclusions from the contract's information document of January 2026. AXA Belgium's role rests on that document and on CallMePower for the date. Complaints come from the Test-Achats platform, consulted on 4 October 2026. The legal framework is the law of 4 April 2014 on insurance, and definitions come from Wikifin.
This site compares and calculates. It does not sell insurance, is not an intermediary under Belgian law, and gives no individual recommendation: to take out a policy, contact the insurer or a broker licensed by the FSMA. In a dispute, the Insurance Ombudsman steps in free of charge, and a driver whom no company will accept can apply to the Bureau de Tarification. No insurer pays for its presence here and no link is an affiliate link.
In summary
Yuzzu wins on RC and full omnium under 10,000 km, loses its lead on mini-omnium and bills mileage in steps of €43 to €54. The three settings that move the bill are the mileage declared as accurately as possible, the excess (surcharge divided by 500) and annual rather than monthly payment.
